Cruise lines sailing from Port Canaveral have started to customize their itineraries to avoid Hurricane Dorian.
Royal Caribbean has modified the itineraries of three ships — Appeal of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas and Symphony of the Seas– from eastern to western Caribbean paths.
The Consistency of the Seas is based at Port Canaveral. Its brand-new itinerary on the sailing that left Port Canaveral Sunday consists of stops at the Royal Caribbean’s personal island of Perfect Day CocoCay; Cozumel, Mexico; Roatan, Honduras; and Costa Maya, Mexico. The ship is arranged to return to Port Canaveral Sept. 1.
Melissa Charbonneau, director of corporate credibility for Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., said the changes were made “to ensure the safety and comfort of our visitors.”
” We continue to keep track of the course of Hurricane Dorian and possible impact to our vessels, and will communicate any scheduling modifications to our visitors,” Charbonneau stated in a declaration.
Disney Cruise Line, on the other hand, altered the travel plan of its Port Canaveral-based Disney Dream, from an eastern Caribbean to a western Caribbean route.
According to a letter to Disney Fantasy guests that posted on the Disney Cruise Line Blog Site, the Disney Fantasy now is set up to make stops in Grand Cayman on Tuesday; Cozumel, Mexico, on Wednesday; and Disney’s personal island of Castaway Cay on Friday.
