Fresh Off The Boat sailing into cancellation after its current season

This season’s14 th and15 th episodes will act as the program’s last when they air in 2020.

Though lagging in the scores of late, the program was beloved for its viewpoint and performances, specifically those of leads Wu and Randall Park, who starred as the nucleus of a Taiwanese-American household in Florida. As Vulture notes, Nahnatchka Khan’s series, having aired more than 100 episodes, is the longest-running comedy about an Asian-American household in broadcast television history.

Not all is lost, however. < a data-ga ="[["Embedded Url","Internal link","",{"metric25":1}]] href="" > As we reported back in August, ABC is currently dealing with a spin-off that will fixate a totally brand-new household in its universe. Range reports that these new characters, an Indian family with a child near Hudson Yang’s Eddie Huang, will be presented in an upcoming episode. Vir Das and Preity G. Zinta are slated to star in the spin-off, with Fresh Off The Boat author Rachna Fruchbom crafting the story.
